Common questions
Most customers end up in a half size to one full size smaller than their conventional shoe size. The reason is that conventional shoes have a toe spring and built-in volume that adds perceived length. Barefoot shoes are flat and closer to your actual foot shape. See our Fit Guide to measure your foot in centimetres and use the JP size column directly.
Some calf and Achilles soreness is normal in the first one to two weeks as tendons and muscles adapt. This is not injury — it's the body re-learning a gait it already knew. We recommend starting with short walks of 20–30 minutes and building gradually. Most people feel fully comfortable by week four.
Arc Runner and Trail Glider are designed for running. Arc Runner suits road and light trail. Trail Glider has a more aggressive outsole for varied terrain. We recommend building up running mileage slowly — start by walking in the shoes, then introduce short jogs after week two of the transition.
The natural rubber outsole and canvas upper on running models typically last 600–900km of combined use. Everyday models (Urban Flat, Daily Loop) are built for daily wear and typically last 18–24 months of regular use. The unbleached canvas upper ages gracefully and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
